SKI SKILLS

  1. First time EVER or very nervous beginner
  2. Beginner with a couple of days experience on snow or a few dry slope lessons- can make a snowplough and stop on very easy terrain
  3. Strong Beginner- Can comfortably complete snowplough turns down a green slope
  4. intermediate- Comfortable with fairly parallel turns on blue runs
  5. intermediate/ advanced- comfortable at high speed on blue runs and more carefully on red runs
  6. Advanced- comfortable at high speed including dynamic turns on red runs with moguls, more careful but able to complete black runs.
  7. Expert- Comfortable with all kinds of runs including varied snow conditions, off piste, possibly basic freestyle. Also comfortable at high speed and dynamic, agreesive turns on steep black pistes.

SNOWBOARD SKILLS

  1. First time EVER or very nervous beginner.
  2. Beginner with a couple of days experience on snow or a few dry slope lessons- can "sideslip" forward and backwards and stop on very easy terrain.
  3. Strong Beginner (roughly 5 days experience on snow)- Can comfortably complete linked "basic" turns down a green slope.
  4. intermediate- Comfortable with linked turns on blue runs.
  5. intermediate/ advanced- comfortable at high speed on blue runs and more carefully on red runs.
  6. Advanced- comfortable at high speed including dynamic turns on red runs with moguls, more careful but able to complete black runs.
  7. Expert- Comfortable with all kinds of runs including varied snow conditions, off piste, possibly basic freestyle (jumps, rails, jibs). Also comfortable at high speed and dynamic, agreesive turns on steep black pistes.
